Cape Town is South Africa's second largest city of Johannesburg.It has a population of around 4 million. In 2014 Cape town was flushed with rainfall and the city's water saving strategy was well received.Cape town has missed several warnings from its counterparts about water scarcity.Not once or twice it has been last ten years Cape town receive warnings on water scarcity.All these years what cape town does is just ignoring.
Cape town is now running towards 'Day Zero' or 'Zero Day'.This term refer to the day when the city run entirely out of water. Capetonians are now very series in water conservation by bathing and washing less often.Its high time and everything out of hands.The rainy season of Cape town is in the month of may.Its just predicted that rain will arrive in may.In case of monsoon failure the condition of cape town will be a question.Cape town 1st in the order of cities running towards 'Day Zero'. Major cities in India,Indonesia,Mexico,Brazil are lining up.
The Capetonians piling up in ques to get water just what we do in our ration shops.Its alarming that experts predict May 11 may be the 'Day Zero'.
We are not far away from Cape town and Chennai city facing a de facto crisis.In 2016 and mid 2017 Chennai faced a severe crisis with the reservoirs all running empty and the tankers jamming the road.The middle class and the lower middle class are the most affected.And now the scarcity was not restored.As mentioned earlier now it is de facto crisis.May be the water supply is normal, but the need for water increases day by day.The major drawback in the city was lack of proper drainage and water conversation systems.The 2015 floods followed by 2016 and 2017 cyclone gave enough rainfall but we failed to conserve the rainwater.
